Mission of the Church Worship Series (NEW! Spanish title slides are now included)

The Christian Church is an assembly of people on a mission. We have been sent out on a rescue mission into a hurting world to share peace and joy through the gospel. Jesus gave the Church its mission. “And Jesus came and said to them,All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age (Matthew 28:18-20 EHV).” Jesus wants us to go into the world and make disciples by baptizing and teaching; leading people out of darkness and helping them grow in faith through God’s Word and Sacraments. We all have the same mission from Jesus, but we can talk about that mission in different ways. Some churches will use different words to describe the mission of the church, but all churches will focus on similar areas. At St. Paul’s, we will be spending four weeks, focused on four aspects of the mission of the church. Worship, Learn, Reach Out, Give Back. You can use this collection of artwork together with your own mission words or statements.

Pastor notes are available here.
